Dear alumni and friends:
Record-breaking fundraising and several milestone gifts—it’s been a great year! Total contributions exceeded $7.9 million
in FY 2007-08. Approximately $2 million was designated for endowed scholarships,
endowments and planned gifts, which help our students reach their educational goals.
It was particularly gratifying for the volunteers, fundraising staff and faculty who helped
bring about this record fundraising.
The endowment closed the year with a market value of $46.6 million, which included planned gifts under management
by the Foundation of nearly $1.4 million. In spite of recent market declines, the Foundation provided increased income
from endowed scholarships and other endowments to EMU due to our market value averaging spending policy.

We hope you find this Web site helpful as you seek information about the EMU Foundation or guidance on
your gift to EMU. Connect to one of
EMU's
five colleges, the Honors College or athletics for fundraising initiatives in
those areas.
We appreciate your continued support as we work to raise the visibility of the University. Planning moves forward for a
five-year comprehensive campaign, launching in 2009, which will focus on scholarship support for students, program
support for faculty and infrastructure needs across campus.
