Flora Du appreciates the opportunities she has been given while enrolled at EMU, and she enjoys giving back. She understands the importance of getting involved, and has dedicated herself, not only to her studies, but to volunteer work.
Most recently, Flora was recognized for exceptional leadership and volunteer service by APICS, the Association for Operations Management, recognized as the industry's leading professional organization.
Flora recently finished her bachelor's in accounting in the EMU College of Business, and is now pursuing a master's in information assurance in the EMU College of Technology. Her hometown is Guangdong, China.
"Most of my professors are very helpful to me in my classes. They not only teach me valuable and practical knowledge, but also encourage me to get involved in personal development to help me grow individually and professionally," she said.
Flora is grateful for EMU's reasonable tuition rates, and more importantly, the scholarships she has been awarded. She feels that scholarships are a way to affirm students' efforts and are a strong motivator to push them to succeed.
After earning her master's degree, Flora aspires to become a successful accountant or auditor.
