Purpose and Goal of Donor Relations:

To strengthen the approach of recognizing donors by mindful stewardship of their philanthropic gifts and appreciation for donors' interest in EMU.

Donor relations entails building and nurturing lasting relationships between Eastern Michigan University and those who support it with their time, money, and effort.

Good donor relations includes:

• Acknowledging donors and their efforts
  Examples include letters, cards, personal thank-you's
• Recognizing donors
  Examples include the special events held for donors or by ensuring a donor's anonymity, if requested
• Reporting to donors
  By letting them know exactly how their money is used in support of the University and the positive impact of their gift
