As the cost for higher education shifts from the general taxpayer to the user, private support becomes even more essential to our mission. Clearly, we have moved from a state-supported to a state-assisted institution.

Gifts to expendable (current use) and endowed scholarships will provide immediate and long-term assistance to current students and help us attract and retain top candidates. Scholarships that are immediately expendable go directly to qualified and deserving students. For example, a gift of $1,000 that is expendable immediately has the same "purchasing power" of a scholarship that has an endowed principal of $25,000.

Endowed scholarships also help today's students and will help provide steady, reliable income well into the future. The Foundation currently manages more than 530 named endowments. Individuals, families or groups may fund endowed scholarships or add to existing endowments.
